Frequenty Asked Questions...

How do I download logos from a different region?

MCL automatically selects the region based on your guide. If you would like to download logos from another country, you may want to select a different region.

1. Go to Edit and click Preferences.

2. Click on the Regions Tab

3. Choose your region from the drop down list.

4. Click "Change Region"

How do I change where the logos appear (Grid vs. Description Area)?

1. Your guide region must match the MCL region. If it does not:

2. Go to Edit> Preferences

3. Click on the Regions Tab

4. Choose your region from the drop down list.

5. Choose where you would like the logo to appear in the radio button.

6. Click Update Logo Position

Please note that this option is unavailable for users in the United Kingdom. I'm sorry.

How does Auto Populate work?

Auto-populate assigns logos based on the name of the png of the logo. If the call-sign matches the name of the png, then it will automatically assign it.

If you want to add your own logos to work with autopopulate, the name of the image must match the callsign, with some exceptions:

If it is a color logo, it must have _c on the end and be placed into the color folder.

If the channel uses a special character that can not appear in file paths (> < / \ etc.), replace the invalid character with ~

Where are logos downloaded?

The logos are found in C:\ProgramData\MyChannelLogos\Logos directory. (The programdata folder may be hidden. In file explorer, click Organize> Folder and Search Options>View Tab> And click "Show Hidden Files, Folders and Drives",) Logos are downloaded the first time you start My Channel Logos, based on your region.

To remove a single logo:

1. Pick the appropriate call sign from the Merged channel listing tree.

2. In the Logo area, click Remove.

To remove all logos:

1. Click the Remove All button.

To enable Autopopulation on Startup

1. Go to Edit>Preferences.

2. Uncheck the "Autopopulate on Startup" option.

To show ALL channels found by your tuner, not just the ones enabled in the guide:

1. Go to Edit>Preferences.

2. Check "Show Disabled Channels".

About Exempt Channels

Starting in version 1.10, logo updates are now downloaded off the internet. Your manually added or automatically populated logos can be kept safe from further updates, if you would like. Exempt channels will not change when clicking autopopulate, or with automatic updates.

How to exempt Channels:

1. Manually assigned logos are automatically Exempt.

2. If there are any other callsigns you want exempt, go to Preferences> Exempt Channels.

3. From there, select the logos you would like to be exempt from the left list, and add them to the right list.

"Remove All" Behavior

If you want your exempt channels to stay intact when clicking Remove All on the main screen, uncheck "Remove All removes exemptions" from the Preferences> Exemptions Tab.
